By collaboration with international and local partners, ICATS offers wide range of skills and academic courses from the certificate to diploma level in engineering, electronic, information technology, nursing and environmental tourism. All courses are conducted in English, which makes graduates fluent with the language and be able to communicate better with potential clients from overseas and also to seek employment outside Malaysia. Most of the courses entry requirements are Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) and for those who have not attained the minimal passes in English, the college offers intensive English programme and or Malaysia University English Test {MUET) coaching to equip students with the skills to master the language. Most of the courses also incorporates entrepreneurship subject in the academic programmes, which will expose students to the future application of their studies.

ICATS is recognized as the technical training provider for Sarawak and currently is the only authorized training provider in Sarawak for Small Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC). While majority of the students come from within Malaysia, ICATS also caters to international students too and this in turn exposes them to the traditions and cultures of the nation and Sarawak. International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (ICATS) is located at Tabuan Jaya of Kuching. Formerly known as PPKS (Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak) it has now expanded to Miri and collaborating with UNIMAS, Institut Teknologi Bandung, UTM and UiTM to offer engineering and science courses to form 5 school leavers.

This college has one of the best engineering facilities in East Malaysia and the graduates are recognized by the industries.

International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (ICATS) is certified by the Malaysia Accreditation Board (LAN) and EdExcel of United Kingdom as well as Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Skills Development Department of Malaysia (JPK). ICATS teaching faculty comprises qualified, experienced and dedicated personnel supplemented by well- equipped facilities and resources at affordable cost. International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (ICATS), wholly owned by PPKS Ilmu Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary company of Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS) or Sarawak Skills Development Centre (SSDC). The College was set up to meet the requirement for Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) for the Centre to be able to conduct academic programmes from Diploma up to Post Graduate level.

The College was initially known as Kolej Teknologi PPKS, which was later rebranded to ICATS. The College was set up with the vision to be the preferred hands-on technical training and education provider in the region. Its objective was to produce knowledgeable, skillful, innovative and competent workforce by offering high quality, relevant, innovative, cost effective, hands-on and skilled based education in all professional areas.
