Kuching is renowned for its array of gastronomical delicacies which includes mouth-watering fresh seafood that many visitors often find irresistible whenever they visit the capital city of Sarawak. The family-run and owned restaurant has been operating for more than thirty years serving locals and visitors alike with tantalizing dishes fresh from the kitchen such as their signature dish, Special Hainanese Crab. To fully enjoy this dish, it's best to eat them with your hands and dip the peanut-laced gravy with the accompanied soft, fluffy buns. Apart from crabs, which are also available smoked, baked, steamed or stir-fried, the restaurant is renowned for its rare local fish varieties such as Empurau (Emperor), Tingadak and Sarawak's very own, Semah fish as well as popular local fish such as Batutu, Grouper, Red Telapia, White and Black Pompfret, Sultan, Mancong, Siakap, Stingray and Red Snapper..

The fish can be cooked either steamed, pan-fried, deep-fried or even barbecued with 'sambal' sauce for those who love their food spicy. Other seafood \ available include prawns and lobsters,  imported from Sabah along with the crabs and fish, they are well-stocked in large aquariums at the restaurant. Rock Road Seafood Restaurant ensures that their seafood comes straight from the tank into the cooking pot prepared by chefs in the restaurant's open-concept kitchen, thus giving diners the assurance of freshness for a sumptuous dining experience. Roasted Duck, Crispy Roasted Duck as well as lamb served either braised, deep-fried or stewed Hainanese style. Besides dining there, the restaurant, which emphasizes on quality and customer satisfaction, also provides catering services for corporate and family functions. There are more than fifty dishes to choose from in the catering menu that ranges from seafood to non-seafood dishes.

However, customers can also choose dishes from the restaurant's a' la carte menu that includes lobsters, crabs and abalone. This hassle-free service (provided by the restaurant for over twenty years) includes buffet catering that comprise of buffet counter with table linen and table skirting, banquet chairs, cutleries, serviette, chaffing dishes and free delivery in Kuching town area or within the radius of 10km from the restaurant. Prices start from RM15 per person for catering selection of up to six dishes to RM26 per person for catering selection of up to nine dishes.

The minimum order requirement is RM400 and above for outdoor catering while in-house buffet requires a minimum order of RM800 and above. In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year celebration, the restaurant will also be having a Prosperity Package that will include the must-have delicacy during this auspicious festival, Yee Sang.

Available in either salmon fish or abalone clams, Yee Sang. believed to bring good fortune and wealth in the upcoming year to those who toss and mix it, is just one of the many special dishes that will be served in the restaurant's Prosperity Package. Rock Road Seafood Restaurant operates daily from 11.30am to 2.00pm and 6.00pm to 10.00pm.
