Genting Highlands is located at altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level and is a well developed hill resorts .
Temperature ranges from 15 °C to 24 °C throughout the year for escaping the heat of the cities. This place is a popular destination for local as well as foreign visitors.

The 50 Km route takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes to drive up the hill from of Kuala Lumpur.
It is also called the City Of Entertainment and rightly so as you will be able to enjoy the various attractions and modern facilities on this hill resorts.

Road to Genting Highlands is the best stretch on the north-south highway, Up above the mountains Genting is visible from quite a distance, view from the hotel room, one of the theme parks, the parking lot outside the casino.

All the roads we used, be it highways or just local feeders were mostly excellent or being repaired.
The road to Genting Highlands is a well kept road going up into the highlands around KL.
A normal car such as a 1.5 liter Proton could easily climb all the way to the top in third and second gear and was driving quite pleasant with an easily changing transmission.
But Auto gear small cc car such as 1000cc may not have enough no power for a secure drive up the mountain.
For those long distance travelling, suggest go for servicing and check brake pads before the mountain trip.
The views are nice, you could see Kuala Lumpur on a clear day for a short time before it was all clouds.
Because the hotel are just above the clouds.
In the indoor parks a persons do not have the gift of orientation risk getting lost while wandering in the puzzle of the interconnected hotels, restaurants, in- and outdoor theme parks.

Travelling uphill on winding roads, passing by Gohtong Jaya Town and Chin Swee Caves Temple towards Amber Park at one of the peak of Genting Highlands. Because locals and tourists come here to enjoy the cool mountain air, traffic is congested on weekends and public holidays.
Genting Highlands is located along the Titiwangsa Mountain Range in Pahang.
This popular tourist summer destination has some of the best highways connected to Kuala Lumpur City. Local visitors usually drive themselves up by car, Tourists can use buses+Cable Cars and taxis.
The winding road starts from the base of Genting Highlands beside Karak Highway. Vehicles climb up the mountain slope gradually on roads, passing through Gohtong Jaya town and passing Chin Swee Temple and end at First World Hotel where the Indoor and outdoor Theme Parks are.
Those less powerful cars can park at midway Awana Transport Hub and take the Cable cars to the peak. The cable cars are operates by Awana Skyway based at Awana Transport Hub.

 for those driving up to Genting


Look for the main sign board as you approach the main round about for the direction to Genting road.
Keep RPM around 3,000. Switch off the aircon during climb, to get some power, and prevent engine overheating.

Towards deep slope, manual car with 1.5 or less CC recommended to use Gear 1 or 2.



When coming down from Genting, try not to use foot brake to long as this might burn your brakes. Instead use low gear, its ok for the RPM to pull to more than 5K when needed. Don't worry by the engine sound of 5K RPM.

Drive slow, don't rush.
If not confident to reach the top, just go half peak at Gotong Raya, park your car there and take the cable car up for the final part of the journey.

Be careful when negotiating the turns. There is a tendency for vehicles in the opposite direction to encroach into your lane as they head downhill.
The new road up Genting has improved much. Some parts of the road has 3 lanes that make it easier to drive up.
Reaching the top, the road is a one-way and has 3 lanes and this makes driving up easy.
TEST YOU BREAK :
After starting your car, press the brake pedal a few times. Then move the car slowly and test the brake and make sure that the brake system is working properly.
Do not press on the accelarator when the car is down gradient.
Engage 2nd or 3rd gear and press on the brake to slow down the car if the car is travelling at above 40km/hr.
Do not always press on the brake as this will wear the brake lining.


World Magician Tournament November 17 - 25, 2007 at Genting Highlands Resort
Sixth Star Entertainment & Marketing announced on Mar. 02, 2007 that the company has been selected, in association with David Sandy Productions, Inc. and Cannon Creative, to produce a world class magic event at Genting Highlands Resort.

The event's main feature will be a "World Invitational Tournament" starring top magicians from around the world, including invited champions and rising stars. It will also feature strolling close-up artists, magic seminars, competitions, enrichment sessions for children and adults.
The tournament, officially recognized and sanctioned by the International Brotherhood of Magicians (International Brotherhood of Magicians), will take place from November 17 - 25, 2007. In an effort to establish this event as one of the world's foremost magic competitions, Genting Highland will feature this tournament on an annual basis for five years.
The elaborate event was proposed to International Brotherhood of Magicians officials by Sixth Star Entertainment president Doug Jones and David Sandy at the recent International Brotherhood of Magicians board meeting in Las Vegas.
Magic has long been a favorite on the Genting entertainment stages. International magicians are frequently booked as star entertainers, and the resort is currently featuring the spectacle Fly, with large stage illusions. "We are excited to be hosting this event" says Ng Kheng Leong - Vice President of Promotions and Entertainment of Genting
By sanctioning this tournament, International Brotherhood of Magicians hopes to increase awareness of magic in Southeast Asia, expand its membership and strengthen its position as the world's largest magician organization with over 13,000 members in 73 countries.
