LATAR BELAKANG Sekolah Lestari - Anugerah Alam Sekitar merupakan program usahasama Jabatan Alam Sekitar, Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar, Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia dan Institut Alam Sekitar dan Pembangunan (LESTARI), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Program ini telah dilancarkan secara rasminya oleh YB Dato Sri Hj Adenan Hj Satem, Menteri Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar dan YB Dato' Sri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Menteri Pelajaran Malaysia pada 27 Januari 2005. Bersempena dengan majlis tersebut, dua buah dokumen bertajuk "Asas Pembentukan Sekolah Lestari - Anugerah Alam Sekitar" dan "Garispanduan Pelaksanaan dan Penilaian Sekolah Lestari - Anugerah Alam Sekitar" telah dilancarkan bertujuan untuk membantu pelaksanaan dan penilaian program ini di sekolah. |
BACKGROUND Sekolah Lestari - Anugerah Alam Sekitar is a cooperation program between Department of Environment, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Education and Institute for Environment and Development (LESTARI), Universiti Kebanssaan Malaysia (UKM), This programme has been officially launched by YB Dato Sri Hj Adenan Hj Satem, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and YB Dato9 Sri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Minister of Education, Malaysia on 27 January 2005. Two documents entitled "Mas Pembentukan Sekolah Lestari - Anugerah Alam Sekitar" and "Garispanduan Pelaksanaan dan Penilaian Sekolah Lestari - Anu^erah Alam Sekitar" have been launched to facilitate the implementation and evaluation of this program at schools. |
Dokumen ini bertujuan membantu sekolah memperkukuh proses
pelaksanaan pendidikan alam sekitar sedia ada. Elemen pendidikan alam
sekitar dapat diterapkan pada kalangan guru dan pelajar secara langsung dan
komuniti setempat secara tidak langsung dengan mengintegrasikan pengetahuan,
kemahiran dan nilai murni alam sekitar dalam kurikulum dan kokurikulum. SEKOLAH LESTARI bertujuan membentuk persekitaran sekolah yang menitikberatkan pemeliharaan dan pemuliharaan alam sekitar aspek pengurusan, kurikulum, kokurikulum dan penghijauan. Penglibatan warga sekolah dalam aktiviti SEKOLAH LESTARI memberi peluang kepada mereka untuk mengamal, menghayati dan membudayakan ciri-ciri mesra alam di persekitaran sekolah, rumah, komuniti setempat, masyarakat dan negara. |
The refined Guideline is aimed at facilitating schools in
strengthening the process of implementing environmental education. Elements
of environmental education are inculcated directly to teachers and students,
and indirectly to local communities, integrating knowledge, sky// and good
environmental values through current curriculum and co- curriculum
structure. SEKOLAH LESTARI will help shape a school environment that takes into consideration environmental protection and conservation in various aspects such as management, curriculum, co-curriculum and greening activities. The involvement of the school community (which includes students, teaching, administrative and support staff) in these aspects will provide an opportunity for them to practise, appreciate and embrace environmentally friendly attributes in their way of life be it at school, home, in the community, within society and nation. |
HASRAT SEKOLAH LESTARI - ANUGERAH ALAM SEKITAR SEKOLAH LESTARI adalah suatu usaha bagi melaksanakan DasarAlam Sekitar Negara. Dasar Alam Sekitar Negara mempunyai lapan prinsip dan tujuh strategi hijau. Strategi Hijau pertama memfokuskan aspek pendidikan dan kesedaran yang memberi kefahaman tentang konsep kesejahteraan alam sekitar dan pembangunan lestari, selaras dengan cadangan dalam Agenda 21. Pendidikan dan kesedaran terhadap pemeliharaan dan pemuliharaan alam sekitar memerlukan pengetahuan, kefahaman, perubahan sikap dan penyertaan masyarakat. Perkara ini perlu dipupuk seawal mungkin kerana ia akan menjadi faktor penentu ke arah amalan cara hidup yang mesra alam pada masa akan datang. Satu cara yang berkesan untuk memupuk kesedaran tentang alam sekitar adalah melalui institusi pendidikan terutamanya sekolah. |
AIM SEKOLAH LESTARI is intended to support and enhance the implementation of the National Policy on the Environment, which has therein 8 principles and 7 strategies. The first strategy is focused on education and awareness that provides an understanding of the concept of environmental well- being and sustainable development, which is in line with the Rio Agenda 21. To enhance education and awareness in protecting and conserving the environment, knowledge, understanding, change of mindset and public participation are vital. If this is inculcated at the earliest possible level it can help shape factors essential for a way of life that is environmentally friendly in the future. One effective way to ensure this is through fostering environmental awareness at institutions of learning, particularly at schools. |
Dalam usaha pembentukan sekolah mesra alam yang layak
bergelar SEKOLAH LESTARI, tumpuan perlu diberi kepada empat komponen berikut: Pengurusan Kurikulum Kokurikulum Penghijauan KONSEP SEKOLAH LESTARI - ANUGERAH ALAM SEKITAR SEKOLAH LESTARI berkonsepkan pendekatan menyeluruh yang melibatkan semua lapisan warga sekolah bersama keluarga, komuniti setempat, kerajaan, pihak swasta dan badan bukan kerajaan (Rajah 1). Konsep ini juga memtikberatkan pendekatan bersepadu dalam pengurusan, kurikulum, kokurikulum dan penghijauan di sekolah. SEKOLAH LESTARI adalah payung kepada aktiviti-aktiviti alam sekitar yang sedang dan akan dilaksanakan (Rajah 2). SEKOLAH LESTARI merupakan pusat pembelajaran dan pengajaran yang dapat mempengaruhl warga sekolah dan masyarakat ke arah kehidupan yang lestari. |
In an effort to create a school that is environmentally
friendly and eligible to be labelled as a SEKOLAH LESTARI, emphasis will be
given to the following four components: Management Curriculum Co-Curriculum Greening activities CONCEPT The SEKOLAH LESTARI concept is hinged on an integrated approach, which involves the school community as a whole, their families, local communities, government, private sector and non-governmental organisations. This concept encompasses the integrated approach in management, curriculum, co-curriculum and greening activities. SEKOLAH LESTARI shall encapsulate current and planned environmental activities. It shall also serve as a centre of learning and education that can influence both the school community and society towards a way of life that is sustainable. |
DEFINISI SEKOLAH LESTARI - ANUGERAH ALAM SEKITAR SEKOLAH LESTARI membudayakan pendidikan alam sekitar dengan menerapkan mlai murnt alam sekitar dalam aspek pengurusan, kurikulum, kokurikulum dan penghijauan secara berterusan bagi mewujudkan amalan hidup yang selaras dengan konsep pembangunan lestari.

DEFINITION SEKOLAH LESTARI embraces environmental education through the infusion and incorporation of positive environmental values in school management, curriculum, co-curriculum and greening activities in a continuous manner towards the development of a way of life that is in line with the concept of sustainable development. Environmental education is defined as: "Learning to understand the interaction between man and environment and how the environment can be managed in a wise and responsible manner towards ensuring the sustainability of life on Earth. This process involves education about the environment, through the environment and for the environment." |
OBJEKTIF SEKOLAH LESTARI - ANUGERAH ALAM SEKITAR SEKOLAH LESTARI dibentuk bagi mencapai objektif berikut: a. memupuk nilai murni alam sekitar pada kalangan warga sekolah; b. meningkatkan tahap kesedaran warga sekolah mengenai kepentingan pemeliharaan dan pemuliharaan alam sekitar; c. menggalakkan warga sekolah melaksanakan aktiviti mesra
alam dengan berkesan; |
OBJECTIVES The objectives of SEKOLAH LESTARI are: a. To foster good environmental values amongst the school community; b. To raise awareness amongst the school community about the importance of environmental protection and conservation; c. To encourage the school community to carry out effective environmentally friendly activities, d. To heighten cooperation between schools and communities in making environmental education a success; and e. To generate a school surrounding that is conducive for producing a school community that practices a sustainable way of life. |
