Liew Yik Nam 劉奕南 (劉月?) Liew Yik Nam 劉奕南 was born in China. After the passing of her mother when he was still a young boy, the father 劉俊卿 Liew Jun Chin brought him to Borneo in the 1900s. They eventually settledown in Papar Town in North Borneo (now Sabah)
Liew Yik Nam was tailor also
a hawker around the villages in Papar Town. He married a second
wife who was a Dusun from the near by village and had a son from
this Dusun wife. However the Dusun son dye young. His 1st wife 黃蓮友
inorder to confort the 2nd wife from grift of losing a son, 黃蓮友
adopted a Chinese baby from a Lee family for the 2nd wife and
named him 劉添貴 Liew Thiam Kui. During the 2020-2021 Covid Period, this adopted son 劉添貴 Liew Thiam Kui financed a complete renovation of all the graves of the Liew Family.

『過年生』
或‘寫年生’, 訂婚的意思
『過年生』是外祖母(黃蓮友)口中提起的一個老規矩,父親記錄在筆記裡.是"訂婚"的意思
在家族的新安客家話裡我從來沒聽過有"過年生"這個規矩. 普通話也沒有.網上也沒有任何有關"過年生"的中國風俗習慣.
某天見到老相熟姓鄧客家老婦人時我便急不及待問起來:
" ....阿嫂, 以前客家人"訂婚",老古言語客家倆奔講呀? 係不係『過年生』噉樣講呀?"
這位姓鄧客家老婦人頓一頓,彷彿想起了什麼, 然後告訴了我往事:".....唉陣時係有『寫年生』. 冇『過年生』....... "
".......男仔妹仔噯結婚便去『寫年生』.....寫兩份紅紙.....叫做『寫年生』...沈一位識得寫嘅老先生....寫兩人嘅姓名,生日,時辰......紅紙男仔邊一份,女仔邊一份..... 當作訂了婚"
這張『寫年生』紅紙一寫好,便表示男女雙方已訂了婚. 之後根據紅紙上寫的生日時辰去選一個吉日來成婚.
回到家裡,我急不及待上網Google搜尋『寫年生』, 谷歌給了 1 個搜尋結果. 只有唯一個搜尋結果...
