Members of this family of small, hairy beetles are usually light brown or orange. They range in length from % to % inch. Their antennae are club-shaped. The adults feed on flowers and foliage, while the larvae are often found in various fruits.

The most common U.S. species is Byturusrubi. The larvae of this species, called raspberry fruitworms, cause considerable damage to raspberry and blackberry crops.
