A woven crown of thorns was placed on the head of Jesus on his way to crucifixion. It was one of the instruments of the Passion, employed by Jesus' captors both to cause him pain and to mock his claim of authority.

The gospels say:

"And when they had plaited a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee and mocked him, saying Hail, King of the Jews!"

The idea of building a new building came in 2007 because of the needs for staff working space and expanding ministries.
The idea turns out to be a 10 stories building.
This new Calvary Crown will join together with the present Hall to form a continuous building.

Ground loading test began 30/12/2010

Is. 60:1 -3 “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn.

As in 2010 before the Calvary Crown building was constructed : This old existing DEWAN CALVARY is now joining together with the 10 level new building to form a continuous building complex.

Rev. Teh Yung Huat.

The Senior Pastor of Calvary Charismatic Church, Tawau is Rev. Teh Yung Huat.
Rev. Teh Yung Huat was first installed in 1993 as Pastor of Calvary Charismatic Church by Rev. Prince Gunaratnam, the General superintendent of Assemblies of God churched in Malaysia. and 10 years later Pastor Teh Yung Huat was ordained as a Minister of the Assemblies of God of Malaysia.

He is a Physics graduate from London, also holds a Diploma in Theology and taught in a school before venturing into business and pioneering the church at the same time.
Rev. Teh strongly believes in the power of the Word of God to set people free into their God-given destinies.

Since his full-time ministry leadership for the last 14 years, CCC Tawau has developted to multiple ministries in 4 languages and 2 dialects. The church has an apostolic mission to reach the city and nations for Christ.
The largest nursery in Tawau Town is run by Calvary Charismatic Church.
