Family Tetragnathidae, Big-Jawed Spiders.
Habitat: Grasses and low shrubs in shaded and moist environments.
Female: 7-9 mm.
Male: 8 mm.
Distribution: Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Sri
Lanka, India, Taiwan, Northern Australia.
The posterior end of the abdomen is extended beyond the spinnerets.
The abdomen has two slight humps in front; its underside is green. Active
during the day.
Classification:
Members of the species Leucauge have two rows of long, slender curved hairs
on the femurs of the fourth leg, and silvery or golden spots on the abdomen.
Members of this family build delicate orb-webs with open hubs. The webs are
suspended horizontally or in an inclined plane.
