SURYA COLLEGE


A newly established college approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (M.O.H.E), Malaysia situated in the heart of Butterworth city centre.

The college is relatively new with new programmes designed and conducted by highly qualified academics in their respective fields and managed by professional administrators.

It offers variety of academic programmes ranging from

1) Foundation in Science
2) Cambridge A Levels
3) Short English Courses
4) Allied Health Sciences such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Medical Lab Technology programmes.

Programmes are moderated by the Board of Study which comprises renowned academicians from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and the parent university, VMU.

Students who study at Surya College will have a ready pathway to further their studies at Penang International Dental College (PIDC) and its parent university, Vinayaka Missions University (V.M.U) in India which is recognized by JPA, MMC and MDC for Medical and Dentistry programmes.

A newly established college in Butterworth, Penang.

A premier college for Allied Health Sciences Asia. Surya College is offering courses in following :

1) Nursing,

2) Medical Lab Technology,

3) Physiotherapy,

4) Pharmacy,

5) Foundation In Science,

6) A-level and English language.

Vinayaka Missions University (VMU) of India opened a RM25mil allied health science college in Butterworth.

The Surya College can accommodate some 3,000 students, is housed at the NB Towers in Butter-worth.

Courses offered at the college included nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, radiography and medical lab technology.  The syllabus for the allied science programme was developed by a board comprising lecturers from University Kebangsaan Malaysia and VMU’s parent university in India.

Vinayaka Missions University pro-chancellor Dr S. Sharavanan is also managing director and chief executive officer of Penang International Dental College managed by VMU.

Set up in 1981, Vinayaka Missions University, which currently manages 21 colleges and universities in India, Canada, USA, Thailand and Malaysia, was granted university status by India’s Ministry of Human Resources and Development in recognition of its educational excellence.

There are about 20,000 full-time students studying at Vinayaka Missions University’s colleges and universities while 75,000 enroll for it distance learning programme every year. The colleges and universities produced 5,000 graduates annually.
