AeU is a Malaysian Government funded university and established with the support of Asia Cooperation Dialogue with its 31 member countries. AeU academic programmes are accredited by Ministry of Higher Education. A dual-mode multinational university under the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD). Its establishment is an initiative of Malaysia, as prime mover for
e-education, with the support of the 31 ACD member countries as confirmed by the
Islamabad 2005 and DOHA 2006 ACD Ministerial Meetings. AeU programmes and products will focus on affordability, accessibility, and marketability. AeU act as a facilitator for the mutual accreditation and recognition of degrees and academic programmes among Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL). It will also act as an enabler for IHLs in Asia to leverage on each others
resources and facilities including sharing of academic and professional
programmes. Actively promote e-education efforts to meet the future human capacity needs of Asia. There are seven major schools
