Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) was established on 18 December 1997 as one of the first private universities in Malaysia. The University was named after Malaysia's second Prime Minister, the late YAB Tun Abdul Razak bin Dato' Hussein, and officially launched on 21 December 1998 by Tun Abdul Razak's eldest son, YAB Dato' Seri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, current Prime Minister of Malaysia and then Minister of Education. On 1 March 2007, Tun Abdul Razak Education Foundation (Yayasan PINTAR) acquired Universiti Tun Abdul Razak Sdn. Bhd. (owner of Universiti Tun Abdul Razak) from KUB Malaysia Berhad.

Our main campus is conveniently located within the vibrant and bustling township of Kelana Jaya in Petaling Jaya - 30 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur city centre, and 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
This means easy accessibility to and from campus grounds and an excellent existing framework of transportation facilities for bus and LRT commuters. Due to UNITAR's strategic location, local and foreign students will find no difficulty in securing accommodation within the vicinity.

Student Support Services and Student Development Activities
The Centre for Student Development plans and implements activities for students all year round. UNITAR has over 30 student clubs and societies which includes Aikido Club, Diving Club, Badminton Club, Toastmasters' Club, Debate Club, International Students Club, Indian Students Society, Muslim Students Society, UNITAR. FM, the University's very own internal radio station, as well as sports and recreation activities. UNITAR in one of the first few universities to incorporate co-curriculum subjects into its learning module. There is also a Student Representatives Council or MPM.

The Faculty of Education & Social Sciences programmes offers scholars in-depth knowledge of their areas of specialisations which enable them to keep abreast with new discoveries, inventions, innovations, insights and thinking. Every scholar however, will pursue core programmes which will provide strong grounding in their root cultures and the development of universal worldviews across historical time, geopolitical areas and cultures.

Programmes in FESS introduce scholars to the Knowledge and Cultural heritage of human civilisation through the works and examples of great thinkers and builders of human societies. The mix of courses offered expose scholars to great scientists, artists, poets, philosophers, economists, politicians, theologians, educators, and statesmen who have shaped and contributed to contemporary civilisation. The FESS programmes prepare scholars for mindful and thoughtful self leadership by providing powerful tools of thought and models with actual historical and contemporary examples.
