As a woody root climber, Ficus punctata rooting freely from stems and branches to attach itself to trunk and branches of host tree.

 All bruised parts exude milky-white latex.

E.J.H. Corner (1930s. Assistant director of the Singapore Botanic Gardens) describe Ficus punctata as three different species.
