Wild Red Fruit of Borneo
Red wild fruit in Telupid District, Sabah. 88.2mm. Uneatable. Plastic
like skin cover thin but very hard to break. Greenish black single seed inside.
In the vast rain forest of Borneo are edible and uneatable wild fruits. From
lowlands to hills in this island region has around 500 species growing in the
forest.
Eatable Wild fruits are consumed by the local people over many decades. Some
otherwise toxic species become edible only after cooking or fermentation
processes.
