CHINESE YUNNAN CULTURE CENTER in PAI
Shandicun or Yunnan Chinese village
Location : Santichon Village a Chinese Village in Pai Town, Mae Hong Son


The Chinese Yunnan Culture Center was declared open on February 9, 2005 by Mae Hong Son deputy governor Mr. Prasit Prasertsri.
Exhibition in this Chinese Yunnan Culture Center shows the ancient Yunnan Chinese lifestyle.
There are stores selling local souvenir products and imported Chinese items like Chinese Tea. Restaurant serving Yunnan Chinese food throughout the day.


A low cost guest house is being planned. Future visitors can stay in the village which is production center of Laichee fruit in Pai town.
This Chinese village is 4.5 kilometers from Pai town and has a population about 2,000. The villagers include hill tribe people, immigrants from Yunnan and 48 are formal nationalist Chinese solders. The villagers built this culture center to attract tourists.
Inside the village is Chinese-Yunnan Centre, souvenir shops, and the good taste Chinese-Yunnan foods provided to wait for all the tourists who go to have a visit.
 
The Yunnan Chinese Culture Center is a new tourist attraction in Santichon, changing this village image from that of a drug village.
Yunnan Chinese Culture Center at Baan Santichon, Pai district, Mae Hong Son. The exhibition shows the ancient Chinese pace of living and lifestyle and there is also a market for local products. Boonlor Lorariyawat, is village head of Baan Santichon.
This well-known Chinese village called is located 4.5 kilometers from Pai.
The village is popular for horse riding, shooting games and Chinese souvenir items.
Suntichon Village
Situated about 4.5 km. from town it is Yunnan’s village which evacuated from China in long years ago. The tourists can see the conservative cultures and traditions of them such as the language, dressing, and specially the Yunnan foods that is admired very much among the tourists. Inside the village there will be Chinese-Yunnan Centre, souvenir shops, and the good taste Chinese-Yunnan foods provided to wait for all the tourists who go to have a visit.

Ban Santichon (San Ti Chuen in Yunnanese) is a small village 4.5 KM outside of Pai, situated on the hillside overlooking Pai valley.
Populated mainly by descendants of the KMT (Chinese Kuomintang), the village has preserved its Yunnanese roots and features the charm and atmosphere of a Chinese Yunnanese town.



This is a village of descendants of migrants from Yunnan who still cherish many aspects of Chinese culture and traditions.
Some of the Chinese in Yunnan’s village were army evacuated from China 50 years ago. The tourists can see the conservative cultures and traditions of the Yunan People such as the language, dressing, and specially the Yunnan foods that is admired among the tourists.
