8,000 Flame of the Forest (Delomix Regia) trees along the highway from Mile 4 Apas Road up to the Tawau Airport by 2017
Larry Koh Su Kian @ Rahim Abdullah started in 2012 to create a world record for Tawau with his vision of by 2017 there will be 8,000 Flame of the Forest (Delomix Regia) trees along the highway from Mile 4 Apas Road up to the Tawau Airport.
He made this promise after the Town Housing Committee approached him to have their housing area planted with the trees in 2012

Public Works Department gave the green light and so started in 2012 the project got started. By 2017 (5 years later) a few hundreds trees were seen blooming. Guinness World Records has not issued the world certificate yet because about 2,000 trees are short counted (means about 2,000 trees not yet planted.)
