The family of Tetragnathidae spiders have a total of eight eyes but without a sharp image or under a microscope, often "6" eyes are counted. This is because the median eyes are grouped together almost in a trapezoid shape. The lateral eyes are some distance away. Six parasitic eggs were on its Carapace.

PARASITE ON SPIDER Six parasitic eggs were on its Carapace. These egg shells were broken open indicating the parasitic insects were fully hatched and left. What parasitic insects that laid eggs on this spider is uncertain. But some species of warps are know to be parasitic to spiders. Carapace = Carapace is a protective cover
over the cephalothorax. |
