Only 2 species in this Genus. 1 species in Philippines and 1 in Borneo Island.

Genus Mantisatta spiders are flat with long slender bodies.

Mantisatta trucidans

The femora, patellae and tibiae of legs 1 are proportionately very large. Compared with all other leg segments make legs 1 much the longest and powerfully strong.  There are some short, strong spines ventrally on the tibiae and metatarsi of legs 1.

On legs I of the male the femora, patellae and tibiae are dark  brown and the tarsi are yellow. The remaining pairs of legs are yellow.


Mantisatta trucidans THE ABDOMEN

The abdomen is very elongate, almost parallel-sided, widely truncated at the front and has a long pointed tail which extends a long way past the spinnerets.

The cephalothorax (head segment) is thin and flat.

The carapace (upper section)  is oblong, almost twice as long as wide, with slightly curved sides.

A carapace is a dorsal (upper) section of the  cephalothorax (head segment)


Mantisatta trucidans THE MALE PEDIPALP

This is a male judging from its final segment of the pedipalp, the tarsus, shaped swollen like a bulb.
