Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants applying for admission into the professional programmes at TAR College must be eligible for student registration with the respective professional bodies.

Admission of students to the various levels/parts of ACCA/CIMA/ICSA is subject to satisfactory performance/exemption from the earlier levels/parts and vacancies available.

Financial Accounting cum ACCA


Focuses on providing specific accounting information needs through designing and operation of information and reporting systems tailored to parties external to the organizations.
Career focus on assurance services, taxation, treasury and financial markets and management consultancy.

Level of Study:
Advanced Diploma

• Summer semester conversion degree at SHU for an award in BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance

Management Accounting cum CIMA


Focuses on the interpretation of both financial and non-financial information for a range of operational and strategic planning, control performance evaluation, problem solving and decision making situations in profit and non-profit organizations.
Career focus on accounting, treasury management, risk management and business consultancy.

Level of Study:
Advanced Diploma

Business Management cum ICSA


Focuses on providing broad base knowledge in management, law, accounting, taxation, finance and corporate governance for effective corporate management and administration as well as adherence to corporate governance.
Career focus includes company secretaries, corporate advisors, corporate officers, chief governance officers, tax agents, compliance officers, management consultants, corporate managers, corporate administrators and human resource managers in both the public and private sectors.

Level of Study:
Advanced Diploma

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
[ACCA]
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
[CIMA]
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators [ICSA]
Students follow the Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) programme and gain exemptions for Fundamentals (Knowledge Module), Paper F4 and F5 of ACCA.

Students will follow the Internally Assessed ACCA Fundamentals (Skills Module) programme in the First Year of Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting).

Students are prepared to sit for the Professional Level examinations of ACCA in the Second Year of Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Financial Accounting).
Students follow the Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) programme and gain exemptions for the Certificate in Business Accounting papers of CIMA.

Students will follow the Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Management Accounting) programme and gain further exemptions for the Operational and Management Levels papers of CIMA.

Students are also simultaneously prepared to sit for the Strategic Level examinations of CIMA and the Test of Professional Competency in Management Accounting paper.
Students follow the Diploma in Business Studies (Business Administration) programme and gain 6-paper exemptions from the Professional Diploma in Corporate Administration programme in the MAICSA examinations.

Students will follow the Advanced Diploma in Commerce (Business Management) programme and gain further exemptions for the Professional Diploma and ICSA International Qualifying Scheme (IQS) Professional Part 1 programme. Students are also simultaneously prepared to sit for the ICSA International Qualifying Scheme (IQS) Professional Part 2 programme.
