Ficus benjamina is a woody evergreen plant that can grow from a shrub to a tree.

The tree branches are slim and slightly droopy. The overhanging branches look of the tree get the nickname weeping fig. This  weeping fig tree grows naturally in Asia and northern Australia.

Strangler figs such as this young Ficus benjamina suck up the nutrients from its victimized host trees causing them to die eventually.
