Rajah Brooke Birdwing Butterfly

The biggest butterfly in Malaysia! When in flight this butterfly resembled like a black color bird.

Troides Brookiana (Raja Brook’s Birdwing), a rare butterflies in Borneo can be easily spotted at the Tawau Hills Park.

The Rajah Brooke’s Birdwing (Troides brookiana) is a beautiful species from Malaysia.

Discovered in 1855 by famous British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace during one of his expeditions to Borneo. He named it in honor of  Sir James Brooke, the Rajah of Sarawak.

Other then Tawau Hills Park, this species can be found in Cameroon Highlands as well.
