ABOUT Multimedia College - MMC SABAH CAMPUS
From a TM Training College in 1974, it has transformed to IPTS College in 1996 and rebrand as Multimedia College in 2005. Multimedia College (Sabah) is now offering a range of diploma courses that suits SPM leavers with a friendly college community with active student body.
College is located at Alamesra Permai Plaza, Blok E, Ground Floor. The campus offers complete lab facilities of multimedia, lecture rooms, computer labs and library.
Multimedia College (MMC) or previously known as Telekom Training College was established in 1948 as a national provider of telecommunications training in Malaysia. Located at Jalan Gurney Kiri/ Jalan Semarak Kuala Lumpur/ MMC has been operating as a Private Institution of Higher Learning since 2000. The change of the institution's name from Telekom Training College to Multimedia College is to dispel the belief that this institution is limited to Telekom staff. While the main campus operates in Kuala Lumpur, five other branch campuses operate in Malacca, Taiping, Kuala Terengganu, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.
MMC has long envisioned itself to be the most preferred ICT knowledge institution in Asia Pacific. The institution offers quality diploma programmes which are designed to produce graduates who have a wide range of knowledge, skills and understanding in various fields. Our mission is to be the institution that develops, transforms, and creates people at various levels of the organization with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out the corporate objectives of TM, the needs of society and other professional organizations.
Multimedia College (MMC) is a subsidiary of Multimedia University ( MMU ) since 2009. As a feeder to MMU, MMC provides the student to enter MMU by completing any diploma programmes offered at MMC.
As a college specialising in the area of telecommunication and creative multimedia, MMC offers affordable programmes to Full Time and Part Time students which they can complete their studies within 2½ to 3 years. Employment oppurtunity is also offered through TM subsidiary.

Programme Outline
There are 8 diploma programmes which are at par with the strong vision and mission of MMC. All programmes are certified by Lembaga Akreditasi Negara (LAN) and designed to meet the standard requirements of the institution. MMC also collaborates with local and foreign universities in designing its programmes. All programmes are well taught by highly qualified and experienced lecturers.
Academic Strengths
MMC aims to become a world class learning organization that will develop human potential through appropriate and innovative learning interventions that fulfill corporate objectives. In order to achieve the objective, we take in only high skilled and competent lecturers as our teaching staff. Besides the ability to provide a favorable learning environment for students, MMC is well equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, such as video conferencing and a digital library to meet the demand for high standards of education.
Recognition
MMC has received the accreditation from Lembaga Akreditasi Negara (LAN) to ensure that all programmes offered are professionally designed to meet students' diverse needs and interest. To date, 2,787 students have graduated since its operation as a private higher learning institution in the year 2000.
MMC was awarded the ISO 9001 Quality Certification by SIRIM in 1998 to recognize the high quality management of its training programmes. Moreover, it has been appointed as training provider for Commonwealth Telecommunication Organization (CTO) and Economic Planning Unit under the Prime Minister's Department for the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP). Through Telekom Malaysia, MMC was appointed as a Certifying Agency by the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Following to this appointment, MMC was assigned with the responsibility of conducting the certification of those who are commissioned to carry out specific cabling works in the telecommunication industry as required under the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998. Other facilities which are available in MMC are accommodation and sports and recreation facilities. All these are to ensure students can live in a comfortable and conducive learning environment, as well as enjoy various activities within campus. Accommodation
MMC provides accommodation to its students. There are five blocks of hostels, which are available for male and female students, with rates based on the type of room.

A multipurpose hall, simple yet befitting a 3-star hotel function hall is set modestly in tranquil grounds of the college with 600 seating capacity,
• Cafeteria
Wide varieties of halal Malaysian food are served in the cafeteria and coupon meals are provided to in-house trainees who are residing in the hostels.
• Surau (Musollah)
A surau is available for Muslims to perform prayers.
Computer Lab
Computer labs are equipped with multimedia PCs and fast internet access for interactive media production and web development courses. A special lab is also available for PC management and maintenance.
• Distance Education Lab
This state-of-the-art facility was set up at the main campus to enable students to interact with all regional colleges effectively via the internet as well as video conferencing.
• Library
The digital library which can accommodate around 100 users at a time has a collection of approximately 20/000 volumes of books, journals and other reading materials. The collection is mainly divided into computer, communications, electronics, technical and management both in monograph and non-monograph. In line with the latest technology users are also able to access the database of all TM libraries through the library online public access catalogue (OPAC). The library features a reading area, discussion rooms, private study corner and business corner that offer internet access and audio visual aids for users.
• Classroom
Classrooms are equipped with overhead projector, flipchart, slide projector, videocassette recorder and other up- to-date training aids, A classroom can normally accommodate a maximum of 45 trainees.
• Sports & Recreation
There are outdoor and indoor games facilities like soccer/ tennis, table tennis, sepaktakraw, netball, volleyball, carom, darts, chess and a gymnasium.
