The secondary
genitalia of a male Onychargia atrocyana damselfly.
The secondary genitalia on the undersides of
segments two and three and are conspicuous.

View from bottom of the last 3 segments.
When view from the bottom, the male anal appendages are similar to
others species in the same family.
When view from the top, there seem to be
3rd pair of unusual appendages on the very top of the last segment.
(Unfortunately I did not have another clearer image for
verification)

Onychargia atrocyana both found on the same location
at WHITE BRIDGE in Sabah.
The whole damselfly is pure black with
metallic deep blue on the upper part of thorax. Abdomen fine and
thin but the throex is robust build.
While other damselfly are colorful, the
unique pure shinning black color make this young male looks more
like a precious jewelry. Under direct sunlight the top of the 2 eyes
shin with metallic blue.
